Obituary of Pearl Lee
Mrs. Pearl Lee, 90, of South Litchfield Street, (Streamside Apartments), Frankfort, entered into eternal rest on Sunday morning, December 18, 2005 in Folts Homes, Herkimer. At the time of her passing she was surrounded by her loving family. Pearl was born in Ludlow, Vt., on December 31, 1914, the daughter of the late Adeline Jessemer and Dennis Rushlow. She was raised by Edward and Bertha Roach who were her surrogate parents, after taking her from an orphanage on the death of her birth parents. They are the only grandparents known to her children. Pearl was educated in Vermont. She was married to William Rehm who died in 1936. She then married Earl Lee who died in 1954. She held a special place in her heart for Joseph LaBuzzetta who was very caring to her. She resided for many years in Frankfort, where she raised her children. For many years she was employed by various area hospitals as a nurses aide. She also worked at Savage Arms. She was especially proud of her time spent as a Foster Grandparent where all knew her as "Grandma Pearl". She was also active in the Red Cross donating many hours in training and volunteering. She was a member of the Young at Heart Senior Citizens of Frankfort, the American Legion Auxillary, Eagles and the VFW Auxillary. She and her husband, Earl, were also in the Civil Air Patrol during WWII. Pearl was a communicant of Our Lady Queen of Apostles Church, Frankfort. Pearl touched many lives of all ages over the years with her willingness to help others. She had a passion for life and lived every minute. She filled her life with people, doing for others, and cooking. Her best days were fishing and adventures with Sister Peg who she missed every day. She is survived by her sons: John Rehm of Utica, William Rehm and wife Marion of Frankfort, Earl Lee and wife Shirley of Pennsylvania, her daughters: Dawn Kealy and husband Frank, Sharon Knapp, and Patricia Viti and husband Anthony all of Frankfort; nineteen grandchildren: especially mentioning Christy who was one of her caregivers, twenty four great-grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren and a sister in law: Gertrude Lee. She was predeceased by three grandchildren: Timothy Kealy, John Rehm, Jr., and Susan Rehm. She was the surviving member of twelve children. Her siblings that predeceased her were: James, Edward, John, Harold, and Walter Rushlow and Mabel Hence, Margaret Coveny, Grace Barney, Edna Fiarkoski, Loretta Quesnell and Lena Dolinski. The family will be present in the Enea Family Funeral Home, Main Street between Frankfort and Ilion, to receive relatives and friends on Monday, (today) Dec. 19, 2005 from 5-8 p.m. Pearl's funeral will commence on Tuesday morning, December 20, 2005 at 10:15 am from the chapel of the funeral home where prayer will be offered and 11 am from Our Lady Queen of Apostles Church, Frankfort St., Frankfort, where her Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by the Rev. John Yanas, Jr., pastor. She will be laid to rest next spring in Mt. Olivet Cemetery, Frankfort. Thank you to Dr. Kodsy, the entire staff of the Folts Homes, especially B.J., Lisa, Carrie, Linda and everyone who cared for Grandma Pearl. The Young at Heart Senior Citizens are asked to gather at the Enea Family Funeral Home, Frankfort/Ilion, at 5:15 p.m. this evening to conduct their service.
