Little Falls-Mrs. Edith (Getman) Leonardi, age 90, a lifelong Little Falls resident passed away on Monday morning, September 26, 2005 in Van Allen's Nursing Home, Little Falls. Edith was born on November 10, 1914 in Little Falls, daughter of the late Rudolph and Theresa (Beischer) Getman and was educated in Little Falls schools. She joined in marriage with Joseph L. Leonardi on September 12, 1936 in Little Falls. His passing occurred on December 8, 1995. Edith was last employed by the former P & K Dress Shop in Little Falls and was at one time employed with the former Melrose Slipper Company. She is survived by many nieces and nephews including Cheryl Rice of Little Falls who was very special to Edith. She was predeceased by a brother: William and by two sisters: Wilhelmina and Louise. In keeping with the wishes of Edith there are no public calling hours. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to a graveside service at St. Mary's Cemetery, town of Herkimer, which will commence at 10 am. on Wednesday, September 28, 2005 with the Rev. Anthony Ligato, pastor of Holy Family Parish, Little Falls, officiating. Memorial donations may be sent to the Christ Lutheran Church or to the Holy Family Parish Memorial Fund. Edith's wishes were pre-arranged and entrusted into the care of the Enea Family Funeral Home, 24 W. Monroe St., Little Falls. The family would like to publicly thank the staff of Van Allen's Nursing Home and Dr. Om and Dr. Usha Wadhera for their kind and compassionate care.
