Obituary of Carmela Lore

Carmela D. (DiMatteo) Lore, age 83, of Herkimer passed away on Thursday afternoon, January 27, 2005 in Folts Homes, Herkimer in the presence of her beloved family. She was born on November 23, 1921 in Herkimer, a daughter of the late Cataldo and Jennie (Fiore) DiMatteo and was educated in Herkimer schools. She was united in Holy Matrimony with Samuel Lore on July 5, 1953 in Herkimer at St. Anthony's Church. He passed away on April 27, 1971. Carmela's last professional employment was with the former A & P Grocery Store in Herkimer retiring after 20 years of dedicated service. She was a communicant of Sts. Anthony and Joseph Church, Herkimer and was a member of the Herkimer V.F.W. Lady's Auxillary. Survivors include two loving sisters: Eva Macrina of Herkimer and Gloria Piazza of Florida, two brothers in law: Pat Moschetto of Herkimer and Earl DeLuke of Frankfort, many nieces, nephews, cousins, in laws and a special friend, Mary Zambri. She was predeceased by three sisters: Josephine DeLuke, Mary Nocito and Rose Mary Moschetto. The family will be present to receive relatives and friends at the Holleran & Enea Family Funeral Home, 220 N. Washington St., Herkimer on Saturday morning, January 29, 2005 from 9:30-11 a.m. A prayer service will be held at 11 am on Saturday from the chapel of the funeral home. Procession will follow to Sts. Anthony and Joseph Church, Herkimer where the Rev. Anthony Ligato, pastor, will celebrate her Mass of Christian Burial at 11: 30 a.m. Interment will take place next spring in Mt. Olivet Cemetery, Frankfort. Please consider the Church of Sts. Anthony and Joseph or Hospice Care, Inc. if you would like to make a memorial contribution in Mrs. Lore's name.
