Mrs. Grace Irene Lyon 92 a resident of the St. Johnsville Nursing Home and formerly of 174 South Main Street, Dolgeville died Wednesday January 26, 2005 at the nursing facility. Grace was born Indian Castle on February 28, 1912 the daughter of Aretas and Anna (Galbraith) Cramer and attended school in the town of Danube. Her marriage to the Honorable George M. Lyon took place on April 24, 1931 in the Methodist Parsonage in Dolgeville. Judge Lyon predeceased her on October 22, 1989. Grace was a member and Past Matron of the Auskerada -Maquaes- Rock City Chapter #204 Order of Eastern Star, a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Dolgeville Fire Department for over 50 years, a former member of the Cathtakne Grange, a member of the Daughters of the Nile. She personally enjoyed collecting many different items and keepsakes, along with feeding the many different types of birds. She is survived by her family that includes her son and their wives, Waldo and Donna Lyon ofMerit Island, Fl., Mayor Bruce and Annette Lyon ofDolgeville, Marsedn and Carol Lyon of Westmoreland, Duane and Donna Lyon of Georgia, Daryl and Julia Lyon of Dolgeville and George and Debbie Lyon ofDolgeville, her Daughters Grace Ann Eggleston ofDolgeville, Nadine and Allen Spencer of Salisbury Center, Irene Dedrich of South Carolina, and Noreen and James Crane ofDolgeville, a Brother Milton "Pete" Cramer of Salisbury , 44 Grandchildren, 62 Great Grandchildren and 21 Great Great Grandchildren, a Daughter in Law Shirley Lyon ofDolgeville, N & N. She was predeceased by her Sons Craig in1978, Merwin in 1998 a Daughter Shirley Williams in 1951 and her husband Ralph "Willie" Williams in 2002, A Daughter Arlene Lyon in 2004 a Great Grandson Jarrod and a Granddaughter Valeriann Lyon. Funeral services will be held Monday January 31, 2005 at 11 AM in the Dolgeville United Methodist Church on Helmer Avenue with Rev. Jeff Losey officiating. Spring burial will be in the Dolgeville Cemetery. Friends may call on Sunday from 4- 7 PM at the Roberts -Buck Funeral Home 3 Faville Avenue Dolgeville. Members of the Order of Eastern Star are asked to meet at 6 PM to hold ritualistic services for Grace. Members of the Ladies Auxiliary are also asked to meet at the funeral to offer their respects. Memorials in lieu of flowers are suggested to the Memorial Program of the Order of Easter Star #204. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
