Mr. Walter J. McCarthy, formerly of Little Falls passed away at St. Michael's Hospital, Toronto on Tuesday, March 1, 2005, at the age of 82. Walter was born in Albany NY, the son of Earl and Katherine McCarthy He graduated with St. Mary's Academy, Class of 1941 and was a graduate of McGill University, Montreal, Cananda. He was the beloved husband of Alice (Kousaie)McCarthy; loving father of Sheila and her husband Henry Haddad, James and his wife Lalita Karoli, Susan McCarthy, John McCarthy and was predeceased by his son, David McCarthy. Survivors also include five cherished grandchildren: Stephanie, Valerie, Andrew, Fabrice and Anjali Rose; three adored Great-grandchildren: Nicholas, William and Beatrice; a sister Jane Muller of Little Falls and two brothers: Joseph McCarthy and wife Phyllis of Little Falls and John McCarthy and wife Ann Marie of Rockville, Md. Following a decorated career in the R.C.A.F., he joined Sun Life in 1950 and retired as a senior investment executive in 1988. He was an avid pilot and sailor. He will be sadly missed by his many friends and family. Visitation at the HUMPHREY FUNERAL HOME - A.W. MILES CHAPEL, 1403 Bayview Avenue (south of Eglinton Avenue East), Toronto, on Friday, March 4th from 7- 9 p.m. and on Saturday, March 5th from 3-4 p.m. Funeral service will follow at 4 o'clock at the funeral home on Saturday.
