Obituary of John McGowan

Mr. John P. McGowan 66 0f 342 Mary Street Frankfort, New York (Town of Schuyler) died Thursday December 8, 2005 at his residence of natural causes. John was born in Little Falls on March 16, 1939 the son of the late Burton J. and Louise (Eisentraunt) McGowan and attended St. Mary?s academy in Little Falls. John also attended Mohawk valley Community College where he received a certificate in welding. He was employed for 27 years at Fredericks Heating & Air Conditioning Company of Utica. Prior to his retirement he was employed by Tri Valley Waste Management Company until 2003. His marriage to the former Patricia (Reese) Tucker took place on November 6, 1982 in Ilion, New York. John was of the Catholic Faith and a member of the Knights of Columbus Council # 518 of Ilion. He was an avid bowler belonging to several leagues throughout the Mohawk valley. He is survived by his wife Patricia, his step sons and their wives Chris and Michelle Tucker of Frankfort, John and Donna Tucker of Tenn., his step daughter and her husband Kelly and Robert Torrey of Virginia, his Brothers Burton McGowan Jr. of Little Falls, Robert and his wife Nancy McGowan of Little Falls and Edward and his wife Marian McGowan of Dolgeville, his Sisters and their husbands Edna Doxtader of Dolgeville and Joan and Donald Congdon of Little Falls, his grandsons Chris Tucker Jr. Austin Tucker, Robert and Aiden Torrey, several Nieces & Nephews, a brother in law and his wife William & Betty Reese of Westmoreland, NY. He was predeceased by his Brother James McGowan and his Sisters Margaret McGowan and Gertrude Vacco. A Funeral Mass will be offered on Monday December 12, 2005 at 11 AM at St. Joseph?s Church North Helmer Avenue Dolgeville. Rev. Leo F. Potvin will celebrate the mass. Burial will be in the spring.
