Obituary of James McTiernan

Mr. James A. McTiernan, Jr., age 80, of Little Falls and Sarasota, Fl., died on Tuesday, March 29, 2005. Born on March 16, 1925 to the late James A. McTiernan, Sr., esq. and the late Elizabeth (Campbell) McTiernan, he was a graduate of St. Mary?s Academy and Union College. His marriage to Deborah Personius took place in 1955 in Elmira, NY. He was a veteran of World War II serving with the United States Navy. His last employment was with the New York State Department of Transportation, Utica, as a right-of-way agent. He held membership with the Little Falls American Legion, the former Little Falls V.F.W. and he belonged to the Little Falls Elk's Lodge. He personally enjoyed golfing, fishing and spending time with family and friends. Mr. McTiernan was of the Catholic faith. Survivors include his wife, Deborah; five children: James McTiernan, III and wife Theresa of Rochester, Ellen Bennett and husband Mark of Dolgeville, Joan Adams and husband Bill of Owego, Mary McTiernan of Ithaca and Michael McTiernan and wife Jeong Ae of Larkspur, California, a brother, John C. McTiernan and wife Myra of Albany, ten grandchildren: Meghan, Marisa, James Michael, Alissa, Lindsey, Billy, Mary, Patty, Peter and James; many nieces, nephews special cousins. Visitation at Enea Family Funeral Home, 24 W. Monroe St., Little Falls will be held on Friday, April 1st, 2005 from 4-7 p.m. The funeral service will begin at 11am on Sat. morning, April 2nd from Holy Family Parish, Little Falls with the Rev. Anthony Ligato, pastor, officiating. Interment will take place in St. Mary's Cemetery, Town of Herkimer. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to the Little Falls Golf Course c/o of Dave Petkovsek, City Hall, 659 E. Main St., Little Falls or to Hospice Care., Inc., 4277 Middle Settlement Road, New Hartford 13413-9558. Members of the Little Falls American Legion will gather at the funeral home at 6 p.m. on Friday and members of the Little Falls Elk's Lodge will gather at 6:30 p.m. to conduct ritualistic services.
