Obituary of Thomas Morath

Attorney Thomas R. Morath, 70, an Ilion native passed away on Sunday December 11, 2005 at the home of his daughter, Elizabeth Bernstein, after a 2 year illness. He was born July 11, 1935 in Utica, NY the son of the late James R. & Frances C. (Loefler) Morath. Thomas attended Annunciation School and graduated from Ilion High School, class of 1952, he also graduated from Fordham University and Fordham Law School and attended Notre Dame University. His marriage to Camille Visconti took place on June 13, 1959 at St. Clare's Church in Bronx, NY. Mr. Morath was a United States Army veteran, enlisting in 1956 and was honorably discharged in 1958 with the rank of Corporal. Until his retirement in 1996, Mr. Morath was an attorney and practiced law in the Bronx. Survivors include his wife of 46 years, Camille of Pennsylvania, a daughter Elizabeth Bernstein and her husband Dr. Steven Bernstein of Williamsville, NY, a granddaughter, Caroline Frances Bernstein, his in-laws, Nicholas & Carol Visconti and Immaculate & Thomas Palazzo, and many nieces & nephews. He was pre-deceased by his daughter Diane Frances Morath on July 14, 1971 and a brother James R. Morath, Jr. Funeral services will be held on Thursday December 15, 2005 at 10:00 am from Annunciation Church where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Reverend Anthony Barratt, pastor. Spring interment will take place at Mt. Olivet Cemetery, Frankfort. There are no calling hours. Arrangements are under the direction of the Enea Family Funeral Home, Main St., (between Ilion & Frankfort).
