Obituary of Alford Mosher

Alford E. Mosher, Sr., 90 a long time Nelliston resident, passed away on Friday January 28, 2005 at the St. Johnsville Nursing Home. He was born July 12, 1914 in the Town of Fairfield, the son of the late George & Maude (Herringshaw) Mosher, and was educated in Inghams Mills schools. He was first married to Margaret Bruggencate who pre-ceded him in death in April 1978. He was later married to Marguerite Hines who pre-ceded him in death in April 1994. Mr. Mosher was last employed at Beech-Nut in Canajoharie, NY. Alford was of the Protestant faith and a member of the Fort Plain Elks Lodge. Survivors include his sons, Jacque A. Mosher, Sr., and wife Dorothy of St. Johnsville, Garry M. Mosher and wife Joan of St. Johnsville, Alford E. Mosher, Jr. and wife Pat of Florida, & Kermit C. Mosher and wife Joan of Nelliston, 2 brothers; Robert Mosher of Hessville, & Howard Mosher and wife Katherine of Fort Plain, 2 sisters, Armetta Dillenbeck and husband Harland of Fort Plain, & Alberta Voght of Fonda, 10 grandchildren, 19 Great Grandchildren, many nieces & nephews including a special nephew William Grainer and wife Joan of Hessville. He was pre-deceased by 5 brothers & 7 sisters. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday February 1, 2005 at 11:00 am from the Enea Family Funeral Home, 9 Center St., St. Johnsville, NY with Reverend Wayne Cole, pastor of the Grace Congregational United Church of Christ officiating. Spring interment will be in Fort Plain Cemetery. Friends and relatives may call at the funeral home on Monday January 31, 2005 from 5-8 pm. In lieu of flowers, please make all memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Assoc. or the American Lung Assoc. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
