Obituary of Daniel Moshier

Mr. Daniel G. Moshier 82 of 7 Gibson Street Dolgeville, died Saturday January 15, 2005 in Little Falls Hospital after an extended illness. Dan was born in the Town of Fairfield, on January 29, 1922 the son of James and Catherine (Keller) Moshier and was educated in school in the town of Fairfield. He was a veteran of WW II having served in the United States Coast Guard from 1942 until he was discharged in 1943 with the rank of 2nd Class Seaman. His marriage to the former Bertha Belle Boyer took place on January 18, 1943 at the home of his parents in Emmonsburg. Mrs. Moshier predeceased him on May 4, 1994. Dan was employed for many years with the Clifford Fuel Company of Dolgeville, and prior to his retirement in 1998 he was employed by the Daniel Green Company of Dolgeville in the maintaince department and also as night watchman. He was one of the first snowmobile instructors in Herkimer County, along with serving as President of the Oppenheim Senior Citizens, he was past President of the Adirondack senior Citizens and a member of the Stratford Senior Citizens. Dan also served as a director for the Spruce Lake Club. He personally enjoyed hunting, fishing and camping with his family throughout the years. Surviving are his Daughters and their Husbands- Janice Marie Moshier with whom he lived, Sandra and Richard Bacher, Mary and Robin Williams both of Dolgeville and Denise and Charles Lamphere of Salisbury Center, His Brother James Moshier of Dolgeville, His Sisters Catherine Houser of Dolgeville and Susan Youker of Salisbury Center, 25 Grandchildren and 29 Great Grandchildren, N & N. He was predeceased by a Son Daniel in 1949 and a sister Elizabeth Guile in 2004. Graveside memorial services will be held in the Spring at the convenice of the family in the Stratford Cemetery. There are NO Calling hours. Memorials may be made to the Oppenheim Senior Citizens in his memory. Funeral arrangements are entrusted to the Roberts ? Buck Funeral Home 3 Faville Avenue Dolgeville.
