Obituary of Mary Muto

Mary R. Muto, 86 a long time Herkimer resident, passed away on Thursday March 31, 2005 at the Folts Home, Herkimer. She was born September 22, 1918 in Herkimer the daughter of the late Vito & Mary Louise (Teso) Losito, Sr. and was educated in Herkimer schools. Her marriage to Frank A. Muto, Sr. took place on May 8, 1942 at St. Anthony?s Church by Reverend Gustave Purificato. The couple shared a blessed union of 42 years until the passing of Mr. Muto on June 29, 1984. Mrs. Muto was last employed at the former Big Jim?s Submarine Shop in Herkimer, after that she was a crossing guard for 3 years, and was a voting inspector for District 6 in Herkimer. Mary was a member of the Church of Sts. Anthony & Joseph and was a volunteer for Catholic Charities and was a member of the Herkimer County Home Guild Auxiliary. Survivors include 2 brothers, Rocco Losito and wife Josephine of Herkimer, & Vito Losito and wife Mary of Herkimer; a sister, Lucy Carbone and husband Richard of Herkimer, a sister-in-law; Lucy Losito of Herkimer, and several nieces & nephews. She was pre-deceased by a son, Frank A. Muto, Jr., a brother, Nick Losito and 2 sisters, Ruth Cucchiara & Katherine Cushman. A memorial service will be held on Wednesday April 6, 2005 at 10:00 am from the Church of Sts. Anthony & Joseph with Reverend Anthony Ligato, officiating. There are no calling hours. Arrangements are under the direction of the Holleran & Enea Family Funeral Home, 220 N. Washington St., Herkimer, NY. All memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association, 430 Court St., Utica, NY 13502 or to the American Cancer Society, Memorial Processing Center, 6725 Lyons St., P.O. Box 7, East Syracuse, NY 13057. The family would like to extend at sincere thank you to the staff and nurses of the fifth floor of the Folts Home for the care shown to Mary during her stay.
