Obituary of Gerald Potter

Gerald H. Potter, 86 of Little Falls, passed away on Tuesday March 22, 2005 at Van Allen Nursing Home. He was born July 21, 1918 in Brooklyn, NY, and was a graduate of PS 94 in Brooklyn, NY in 1935. Gerald was married to Jean Stetz on January 31, 1949. Mrs. Potter passed away on March 10, 1993. Mr. Potter was a World War II Army veteran, enlisting on December 14, 1941 and was honorably discharged on October 29, 1945 with the rank of Private First Class. While serving his country he was a tank gunner and received the American Service Medal, European-African-Middle Eastern Service Medal, and the Good Conduct Medal. He was last employed at the former Daniel Green Shoe Company in Dolgeville, prior to that he worked for 24 years at American Can Co. in Brooklyn, NY. Mr. Potter was of the Catholic Faith. Survivors include his son, Walter Potter of Little Falls, 2 daughters; Linda Potter of Little Falls, & Doris Raymond and husband Ross of Vergennes, Vt., 3 grandchildren; Jessica, Keri, & Brian Raymond and several nieces & nephews. Friends and relatives may call at the Enea Family Funeral Home, 24 W. Monroe St., Little Falls, NY on Friday March 25, 2005 from 5-8 pm. In keeping with Gerald's wishes, graveside services will be held in the spring at Church Street Cemetery, Little Falls, NY. The family would like to thank the staff and doctors of Van Allen Nursing Home for the care shown to Gerald during his stay, and a special thank you to Anthony Bisconti for his help.
