Obituary of Charles Ray

Charles A. Ray, 76, of Lynch Road, Fairfield, died Saturday, July 2, 2005, at Faxton-St. Luke's Healthcare, New Hartford. He was born on June 24, 1929, in South Brookfield, N.Y., the son of Charles W. and Florence (Davis) Ray, and attended Richfield Springs schools. On Oct. 27, 1955, he was married to Mary Fuller in North Brookfield, N.Y. Charles was a lifelong dairy farmer and a past member of the East Herkimer Fish and Game Club. Survivors include his wife, Mary; his children, Nelson, Randolph and his wife Cindy, Rita and her husband James Lund, Anita and her husband James Synakowski, Felix and his wife Janice, Rusty, Deborah and her husband Arron Lincourt and Jerry; 15 grandchildren, Randolph Jr. and Jennifer Ray, James Jr., Mary and Melody Lund, James II and Ronnie Synakowski, Felix Jr. and Jaclyn Ray, Rusty Jr. and Crystal Ray, Nicole and Katelyn Lincourt, Melody and Emilee Ray; two great-grandchildren, Carmella and Samantha; his mother Florence Ray and his mother-in-law Mildred Fuller; four sisters, Neva, Naomi, Martha and Linda; four brothers, Edward, Wendall, Paul and Gary; several nieces and nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by his father Charles and his grandson Jeremy. Funeral services will be held 7 p.m. Tuesday, July 5, at the Applegate & Day Funeral Home, 102 West St., Ilion, with the pastor Jack Cogar officiating. Graveside services will be held 1 p.m. Wednesday, July 6, at the Burlington Flats Cemetery. Calling hours are Tuesday, July 5, from 5-7 p.m., prior to the service.
