Leon "Bud" H. Raymond, age 77, formerly of 37 Columbia St., Mohawk, died Saturday, July 2, 2005, at St. Luke's Hospital, New Hartford. He graduated from Mohawk High School and was a proud veteran of WWII, serving in the US Navy on the USS Clarence L. Evans. Leon was married to Geraldine (Stevens) Schulock, who died on August 8, 1978. Mr. Raymond was manager of warehousing at Griffiss AFB, Rome, and retired several years ago. He was a member of the Ilion VFW Post 502 and a past member of the Mohawk American Legion. Leon was an avid hunter and fisherman. At one time he was a hunting guide in the Adirondack Mountains. Survivors include his daughters and sons-in-law, Tamie and Dave Hickey of Williamstown, NJ, and Debra and Mike Flavin of CA; four grandchildren, Brandon and Janice Hickey, Kimberly and Emily Flavin; four nieces and three nephews. He was predeceased by his sister, Florence "Pet" Carpenter. Funeral services will be held 12:00 noon Tuesday, July 5, 2005, at Murphy Funeral Service, 48 E. Main St., Mohawk. Visitation will be Tuesday, 10:00 a.m.-12:00 noon, prior to the service.
