Obituary of Sybill Reider

Sybill Reider, 85, of 19 W. Montgomery St., Ilion, passed away unexpectedly Sunday morning, March 13, 2005, at Faxton-St. Luke's Healthcare, New Hartford. She was born Sybill Goll Feb. 22, 1920, in Nurnberg, Germany, and completed her education in the German school system. She was married to Louie H. Reider in Ilion and settled in the Mohawk Valley. Mr. Reider passed away March 15, 1976. Primarily a dedicated and loving wife, mother and homemaker, at one time Sybill was employed by Prine Cleaners in Ilion. She was a member of St. Augustine's Church, Ilion. Sybill leaves her devoted and loving son, Guenter "Gint" Reider of Ilion; one sister, Marianne Rauh of Germany; her nieces and cousins in Germany, a special niece, Marianne J. (Leach) Anton and her family of Frankfort; special friends, Lotte and Ed Edgar and Terry Hinton, all of Ilion, and Neil and Babe White of Florida and her dear friend and next-door neighbor, Eleanor Pedersen, also of Ilion. She was predeceased by her parents and one brother, all of Germany. In keeping with Sybill's wishes, there are no public calling hours or funeral services at this time. Family and friends are invited to attend a graveside committal service later this spring in Grandview Cemetery, Whitesboro, with Father Thomas Trees, rector of St. Augustine's Episcopal Church, Ilion, officiating. The date and time of the committal service will be announced at a later date. Those wishing to do so may consider memorial contributions in Sybill's memory to the "Ilion Ambulance Fund" in recognition of the caring and professional service provided to her in time of need.
