Obituary of Mary Reiley

Mary Fagan Reiley passed away on Tuesday September 20, 2005 with her family at her side, she was 87 years old. A graduate of the College of New Rochelle. Mary was employed by Catholic Charities and the Girl Scouts of America. A professional pianist, Mary played, directed and taught at school plays, parish functions and community productions until the grand old age of 85. She will be remembered for her talents and the joy she brought to those around her. A woman of tremendous intellect, she continuously challenged herself, her friends and her family with crossword puzzles, and her knowledge of classic, contemporary and Irish literature. Mary (Nini as her grandchildren called her) spent every summer on Otter Lake in the Adirondacks enjoying the antics of her friends and family in the dock. Survivors include her son Rob Reiley and his wife Donna of Annapolis, MD., her daughter Mimi Vilord and her husband Randy of Suffern, NY, as well as 6 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren, and a niece, Cecilia Fagan Polidori, Esq. And her husband John of Herkimer. She was pre-deceased by her husband Robert J. Reiley , Jr., her brother F. Arthur Fagan, Jr., Esq., and her sisters Katherine Fagan, M.D., and Cecilia Fagan Miller. A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated in Suffern, NY. Friends and relatives are invited to attend at graveside service on Saturday September 24, 2005 at 10:30 am at Calvary Cemetery, Herkimer, NY with Reverend Anthony Ligato, pastor of Sts Anthony & Joseph Church officiating. Local arrangements are by the Holleran & Enea Family Funeral Home, 220 N. Washington St., Herkimer, NY. All memorial contributions may be made to St. Mary of the Snows Catholic Church, Forestport, NY 13338 for the purchase of a new organ.
