Janette L. Rice, 77 a long time St. Johnsville resident, passed away on Saturday November 12, 2005 at the St. Johnsville Nursing Home. She was born August 29, 1928 in Fort Plain, the daughter of the late Nelson & Verlie Rose (VanEtta) Ambridge, and was educated in local schools. Her marriage to Timothy Rice took place on October 12, 1946 at St. Mary?s Church in Little Falls. The couple shared a blessed union of 53 years together until the passing of Mr. Rice on January 15, 1999. Mrs. Rice was of the Baptist faith. Survivors include her sons, Timothy Rice, Jr. and his wife Ann of St. Johnsville, David Rice, Sr. and his wife Earlene of Little Falls & Paul Rice, Sr. of St. Johnsville, her daughters, Janette Lynch and her husband Greg of Oppenheim, & Kathleen Rice of St. Johnsville, a brother, Nelson Ambridge and his wife Irene of Canajoharie, 5 sisters, Alice Zimmerman of Cohoes, Gladys Martagon of Fort Plain, Natalie Yager of Nelliston, Adeline Skee and her husband Charles of Amsterdam & Eleanor Ambridge of Cohoes, 17 grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren, and many nieces, nephews & cousin. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday November 16, 2005 at 11:00 am from the Enea Family Funeral Home, 9 Center St., St. Johnsville, with Reverend David Plank, officiating. Burial will be in Rural Park Cemetery, Inghams Mills, NY. Friends and relatives may call at the funeral home on Tuesday November 15, 2005 from 4-7 pm.
