Joseph C. Richard, 86 of 85 W. Main St., St. Johnsville passed away on Wednesday April 27, 2005 at the St. Johnsville Nursing Home. He was born February 21, 1919 in Fitchburg, Mass., the son of the late Phileas & Melina Richard. Joe was educated in Fitchburg, Mass. His marriage to Fedora Fiaco took place on December 25, 1945 at St. Patrick?s Church in St. Johnsville. Mrs. Richard passed away in 1975. Mr. Richard was a World War II army veteran, enlisting on November 17, 1939 and was honorably discharged on November 19, 1945 with the rank of Private. Joe was employed at Univac and Life Savors retiring in 1981. Mr. Richard was a member of St. Patrick?s Church and was also a member of the Disabled American Veteran?s Post # 82, Stars & Stripes in Utica, VFW Post 3275 of Fort Plain, American Legion, Post # 554 of Fort Plain, and Canajoharie Moose Lodge # 853. Survivors include a son; James Richard and wife Eileen of St. Johnsville; a daughter, Carol Pedro and husband Richard of St. Johnsville; a brother Ernest Richard of Mass.; 2 sisters, Lena & Cecilia both of Mass; 6 grandchildren, Jonathan Predro and wife Addie of Conn., Alexis White and husband Kevin of New York, Christian Pedro of St. Johnsville, Joshua, Alexandra & Nicholas Richard all of St. Johnsville; 2 great grandchildren, Isabella Pedro & Connor White, and several nieces & nephews. Funeral services will be held on Saturday April 30, 2005 at 9:30 am from the Enea Family Funeral Home, 9 Center St., St. Johnsville, NY and at 10:00 am from St. Patrick?s Church where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated. Interment will follow at St. Johnsville Cemetery. Friends and relatives may call at the funeral home on Friday April 29, 2005 from 6-8 pm. All memorial contributions may be made to S.A.V.A.C.
