Obituary of Leland Schuyler

Leland "Squeaky" Schuyler, 73 of 237 State Route 36, Paul Smiths, and formerly of Bloomingdale, NY died Saturday October 29, 2005 at his home. Born in Oppenheim, on January 16, 1932, he was the son of Leon & Esther (Phelps) Schuyler. He married Dora Sheppard on July 4, 1954 in Oppenheim. He had been a resident of Bloomingdale and more recently of Paul Smiths for the last ten years coming from St. Johnsville where he was employed as a finish filer for Remington Arms until his retirement in 1982. Mr. Schuyler was a volunteer at the Vermontville Food Pantry for ten years. He was an avid hunter and fisherman and served as a Boy Scout Leader from 1966 to 1975. He is survived by his wife Dora of Paul Smiths, five children, Cindy Mosher and her husband Allan of Paul Smiths, Barry Schuyler and his wife Wilemena of Mayfield, Tammy Anderson of Little Falls, Timothy Schuyler of St. Petersburg, Florida, and Tina Hazzard and her husband Ron of Nelliston; 11 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. He is also survived by four sisters, Grace Murphy of Little Falls, Marilyn Hall of South Carolina, Jeanne Kesserling of South Carolina and Eleanor Blakeeslee of Florida; and many nieces, & nephews. He was pre-deceased by his parents and two brothers & two sisters. Funeral services will be held on Thursday November 3, 2005 at 2:00 pm from the Enea Family Funeral Home, 9 Center St., St. Johnsville, with Reverend David Bowley, officiating. Burial will follow at Rural Park Cemetery, Inghams Mills, NY. Friends and relatives may call at the funeral home on Thursday November 3, 2005 from 12:00 noon until the time of the services.
