Obituary of Raymond Sheahan

Raymond F. Sheahan ,88, formerly of Little Falls passed away on February 21, 2005 in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida. Raymond was born July 22, 1916 in Albany NY. He was the son of the late Cornelius J. and Bessie M. (Gannon) Sheahan. Raymond was a of the Christian Brothers Academy in Albany, Class of 1935, and served in the United States Army being honorably discharged in 1944. He also belonged to the Knights of Columbus where he was a 3rd degree member. Ray worked for the US government with the Internal Revenue Service of Albany and New York City and the Department of Energy, also in New York City. He was united in marriage to his beloved wife of over 50 years, Mary Bundyk of Little Falls on February 3, 1944. She predeceased him. They lived in Albany, New York City and most recently in Tarpon Springs and Palm Beach Gardens, Florida. He is survived by his brother Walter Sheahan and wife Genieve of Loudonville, NY, his brother inlaw George and wife Arlene Bundick of Little Falls,a sister in law Jeanette Bundyk of St Johnsville. Also surviving are several cousins, nieces and nephews including James Sheahan and wife Patricia of Pittsburgh, PA, Robert Sheahan and wife Joan of South Glens Falls, Dennis Sheahan and wife Janet of Cohoes all of whom along with their sons and daugthers will miss their grand uncle Ray greatly. Also surviving is a niece Ellie Ochar and husband Chuck, affectionately known as "Dah" of Palm Beach Gardens, Fl who took wonderful care of Ray. Raymond was preceded in death by his wife Mary in 2001, and by a brother Neil Sheahan who resided in Cohoes prior to his passing. Visitation at the Enea Family Funeral Home, 24 W. Monroe St., Little Falls, on Friday, Feb. 25, 2005 from 6-8 p.m. Ray's funeral will commence at 9:15 am on Sat. morn., Feb. 26 from the chapel of the funeral home where prayer will be offered. A Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 10 am on Sat. morning from Holy Family Parish, Little Falls with the Rev. Anthony Ligato, pastor, officiating. Procession will follow to St. Mary's Cemetery, town of Herkimer, where Raymond will be laid to rest and full military honors will be accorded.
