Mrs. Elizabeth M. Solomon 89 of 156 Piseco Road Stratford, died Tuesday May 17, 2005 at the Betsy Ross Nursing Home in Rome, New York where she had been a patient since April 29, 2005. She was born in Stratford on February 8, 1916 the daughter of Norris and Elizabeth (DeLunn) Daley and was a graduate of Stratford School. Her marriage to Joseph S. Solomon took place on February 17, 1946 in St. Joseph?s Church Dolgeville. Mr. Solomon predeceased her on February 27, 1996. Mrs. Solomon was employed by the Western Union Company for a number of years. She also was a clerk at the McLaughlin?s Department store on Main Street in Dolgeville. Her last employment was with the Daniel Green Company of Dolgeville, retiring from there several years ago. She was a member of the Stratford United Methodist Church, the Ladies Auxiliary of the Stratford Fire Department and a former President and member of the Stratford Senior Citizens. She personally enjoyed flower gardening and bird watching. Surviving her is a Son Joel J. Solomon of Stratford, her Daughters Marcia L. Solomon of Rome, NY, and Deborah (Deb) Solomon and her husband Lee McCreary of Roanoke, VA., her Grandson Eric Solomon of Long Island and her Granddaughter Elisabeth Solomon ?Pierce and her husband Art of Scotia, NY. Funeral services will be held Friday May 20, 2005 at 10AM in the Stratford United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Jenett Timlin officiating. Burial will follow in the Stratford Cemetery. Calling hours will be Thursday evening from 6-8 PM at the Roberts & Enea Family Funeral Home 3 Faville Avenue Dolgeville. Memorials maybe made to the Stratford Methodist Church in her name.
