Obituary of Philip Streeter

Philip R. Streeter, age 68, of Harter Street, Herkimer, passed away on Saturday, July 9, 2005 at his residence. He was born on December 14, 1936, a son of the late Orason and Marguerite (DesRosiers) Streeter. He was educated in Herkimer High School and graduated in 1954. Mr. Streeter was married to Margaret "Peg" (Finehout) in Herkimer on September 8, 1956 at St. Frances deSales Church. They were blessed with almost 48 years of marriage. He was a lifelong resident of Herkimer. Mr. Streeter's past accomplishments include being a volunteer fireman until his promotion to a full-time firefighter for the village of Herkimer for several years, village administrator, and once owner and proprietor of Streeter Oil Company. He was formerly employed as a mechanic with the Town of Herkimer and retired in 1999. Survivors include his wife, Peg of Herkimer; one son, Michael Streeter and wife Lisa of Mohawk; one daughter, Susan Moore and her husband Scott of California; two brothers, Francis Streeter and wife Mary of Dryden, NY and Carl Streeter and wife Frances of Ilion; one sister, Linda Carter of Herkimer and the late Ralph Carter. He also is survived by seven special grandchildren, several nieces, nephews and cousins. Funeral services will private and interment will take place at the convenience of the family. There will be no calling hours. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Holleran & Enea Family Funeral Home, 220 N. Washington Street, Herkimer.
