Obituary of Vivian Tarcza

Vivian M. Tarcza, 83, formerly of Mohawk and Ilion, died Wednesday, July 6, 2005, in Plano, TX, at the home of her family. She was born December 2, 1921 in Ilion, the daughter of Raymond and Hilda (Roberts) Eaton, and was a graduate of Frankfort High School. On December 4, 1948, she was married to Henry A. Tarcza in New York City. He died November 4, 1983. Vivian enjoyed a long and happy career as a military wife. She was a resident of Plano, Texas for the past 19 years. She was a past member of the Herkimer VFW Post #4915 Auxiliary. Vivian took joy in helping to raise her granddaughter, Brit. Also, she was active in animal rescue activities. Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Vivian and Dick Bigelow; her granddaughter, Brit Bigelow, all of Plano, TX; her sister, Eleanor Schiemer of Orlando, FL; several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by three infant brothers and her parents. Funeral services will be held on Sunday, July 10, at 3 p.m. at the Applegate and Day Funeral Home, 102 West St., Ilion, with Pastor Jack Cogar officiating. Entombment will be in Cedarville Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Sunday 1 p.m. to 3 p.m., prior to the funeral service. Those people who need free transportation assistance to the visitation or funeral services may call the funeral home at 895-7722. Memorial contributions may be made to the Herkimer Co.
