Mrs. Evelyn E. Weaver 88 a resident of the St. Johnsville Nursing Home, formerly of 120 Peets Road Dolgeville, died Tuesday November 1, 2005 at the nursing home. She was born in Dolgeville on December 4, 1916 the daughter of Carl and Ada (Sleezer) Atkins and was educated in Oppenheim rural school. Her marriage to Ernest Weaver took place on May 4, 1935 in the Methodist parsonage, the ceremony preformed by Rev. Mrs.E. Carter. Mr. Weaver predeceased her on November 13, 1977. Evelyn was employed by the Daniel green Company of Dolgeville in the finishing department for 25 years retiring from there in 1979. She was a Charter member of the Hilltop Vol. Fire Department Ladies auxiliary, serving as its' Chaplin for many years. She was given Life membership of the auxiliary for her service to the organization for over 45 years. She was also a member of the Oppenheim senior Citizens and personally enjoyed cooking not only for her family but, for her many friends. She is survived by a Daughter June Young and a Son and his wife Harold and Betty Weaver both of Dolgeville, her Grandchildren Amy Voorhees, Brenda Avery, Dawn Carpenter, Carrie Carpenter, and Wayne Weaver, 10 Great Grandchildren, and Two Great Great Grandsons, several N & N. She was predeceased by her sisters and Brothers. Funeral services will be held Thursday at 11 am at the Roberts & Enea Family Funeral Home 3 Faville Avenue Dolgeville. The Rev. James Thomas will officiate. Burial will follow in the Dolgeville Cemetery. Calling hours are on Wednesday from 5-8 PM.
