Obituary of Grace Yots

Grace C. (Minosh) Yots, formerly of Sherwood Acres, Herkimer, and 51 E. Main St., Mohawk, died Tuesday, June 14, 2005, at the Folts Home, Herkimer, where she had been a resident. She was born in East Frankfort, the daughter of Dominick and Rosalie (Loma) Minosh. On June 4, 1938, Grace was married to Dominick J. Yots in Frankfort. He died on November 22, 1995. She and her husband owned and operated Yots Fuel Co. in Mohawk for over 40 years, retiring in 1988. Grace was a member of the Blessed Sacrament Church and its Rosary Society in Mohawk, American Business Women's Association, and the Legion of Mary. Survivors include her sons and daughters-in-law, John and Linda Yots of Chula Vista, CA, Tom and Lousie Yots of Niagara Falls, NY; seven grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren; her brother and sister-in-law, Dominick and Carmella Minosh of Frankfort; her devoted niece, Lucille Kinney of Ilion; and several other nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was predeceased by her daughter, Carolyn Grace Yots; and brothers and sisters, Joseph Minosh, Anna Terras, Florence Kinney, Mary (Foglino) Stone, Anthony Minosh, Charles Minosh, Frank Minosh, and Jennie Yots. Funeral services will be held 10:30 a.m. Saturday, June 18, 2005, at the Blessed Sacrament Church, E. Main St., Mohawk, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Father Mark Cunningham, Sacramental Minister, assisted by Sister Mary Jo Tallman, Parish Life Director. Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery, Herkimer. Calling hours are Friday, June 17, 2005, from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the Graves-Applegate-Day Funeral Home, 48 E. Main St., Mohawk. Contributions may be made in Grace's memory to the Folts Foundation for the purpose of enhancing the gardens. Envelopes will be available during calling hours at the funeral home.
