Obituary of Joan Allen
Joan A. Allen age 73 of 76 Highland Ave, wife of Cliff Allen, passed away unexpectedly into the hands of the Lord Sunday October 10, 2004 at Faxton Hospital with her beloved family by her side. Joan was born June 26, 1931 in East Meadow, Long Island daughter of John and Helen (Flynn) Paschette. She attended Hempstead High School in Long Island. On July 13, 1947 she was united in marriage to Clifford G. "Cliff" Allen in Roosevelt, LI. A dedicated and a blessed union of 57 years. At one time she was employed by the Herkimer Motel. Joan was a family care provider in her home since 1986. She was a member of the Church of the Annunciation, at one time enjoyed bowling, liked flowers and especially loved cooking and baking with her husband Cliff, preparing big meals for their beloved family. Joan's life centered around her husband, children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Survivors include her loving and devoted husband Cliff, five sons and four daughters-in-law Clifford and Cindy Allen of the State of Washington, Michael Allen, John and Pat Allen, Peter and Sandy Allen, and Scott Allen all of Ilion. Daughter-in-law Barbara Allen of Newport, several grandchildren and great-grandchildren, two brothers John and Richard Paschette, several nieces and nephews and extended family members. She was predeceased by her brother Peter Paschette. Joan's funeral services will be held Wednesday October 13th commencing at 9:15AM at the APPLEGATE & DAY FUNERAL HOME, 102 West St. Ilion and 10AM at the Church of the Annunciation where Father Anthony Barratt Pastor will celebrate a Mass of Christian Burial. Procession to St. Agnes Cemetery for interment will follow mass. Family and friends are invited to visitation Tuesday 2-4PM & 6-8PM at the APPLEGATE & DAY FUNERAL HOME, Ilion. In lieu of floral offerings please consider memorial contributions in Joan's name to the Ilion Ambulance Fund.
