Obituary of Josephine Angelicchio

Mrs. Josephine R. Angelicchio, a longtime Herkimer resident, a native of Frankfort, passed away early Friday morning, September 3, 2004 in Folts Homes, Herkimer. She was born on November 17, 1922 in Frankfort, a daughter of the late Samuel and Rose (Dove) Polizzi and received her education in Frankfort schools. On July 25, 1942, she married Bernard R. "Billy" Angelicchio in St. Mary's Church, Frankfort. She was last employed by the Herkimer Elk's Lodge and was employed at one time by Chirico's Restaurant in Herkimer. Josephine was a communicant of Sts. Anthony and Joseph Church, Herkimer. Survivors include her husband Billy of Herkimer; two sons: Anthony Angelicchio of Las Vegas, NV and Bernard "Billy Boy" Angelicchio of Utica; a daughter: Maria Barberio and husband Greg of Elkhart, IND; five grandchildren, Gregory and Jay Barberio, Anthony and Michael Angelicchio and Joseph Angelicchio; many nieces, nephews, cousins and in laws. She was preceded in death by three brothers: Sam, John and Vito Polizzi; a sister, Florence Giangregorio; and by a daughter in law, Barbara Angelicchio. Josephine was an exemplary family woman, always considering her loved ones to be her foremost priority and her greatest happiness. As mother and grandmother, she constantly demonstrated her loving, kind, and generous nature along with her caring and considerate heart. She was happiest when in the company of her grandchildren. She was a wonderful cook and enjoyed putting her talents to work throughout her professional life. The family will receive relatives and friends at the Holleran-Enea Funeral Home, 220 N. Washington St., Herkimer on Monday, Sept. 6, 2004 from 5-8 p.m. Josephine's funeral will commence at 10:30 am on Tuesday morning, Sept. 7, from the funeral home and at 11 am from Sts. Anthony and Joseph Church, South Main St., Herkimer where her Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by the Rev. Anthony Ligato, pastor.
