Obituary of Frank Baggetta
Mr. Frank N. Baggetta, age 79, a lifelong Herkimer resident passed away unexpectedly on Saturday afternoon, October 23, 2004. He was born on February 18, 1925 in Herkimer, a son of the late Fortunato and Laura (Trimboli) Baggetta and was educated in Herkimer schools. He was united in marriage with Frances Adolfo on April 5, 1948 in St. Anthony's Church, Herkimer with the Rev. Gustav Purificato, officiating. Frank was a proud United States Veteran, serving during World War II with the United States Army. His last professional employment was with the former Library Bureau of Herkimer where he was a sander. He held this position for 37 years. Frank was a communicant of Sts. Anthony and Joseph Church, Herkimer. He was past commander of the Anthony R. George Post #6 of Herkimer, past president of St. Anthony's Crusaders, a life member of the Michael S. Pliseck V.F.W. Post #4915 and was a member of the Herkimer Elk's Lodge #1439. Survivors include his beloved wife Frances, at home, two sons, Francis Baggetta of Herkimer and Joseph Baggetta and wife Ida of Herkimer, four brothers, Dominick Baggetta and wife Victoria of Herkimer, Anthony Baggetta and wife Ruth of Herkimer, Salvatore Baggetta and wife Jane of Herkimer and Joseph Baggetta and wife Katherine of Herkimer, a sister, Antoinette Recchia of Herkimer, four grandchildren, Patrick and Angelo Baggetta, David and Jacquelin Baggetta, two aunts, Josephine Trimboli and Frances Quarneri, in laws, Dean LaValley of E. Herkimer, Rosemarie Brown of Herkimer, Micheline Adolfo of Baltimore, MD, and Zee Adolfo of Landolakes, Wisconsin, many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. The Baggetta family will receive relatives and friends at the Holleran-Enea Funeral Home on Monday (today), October 25, 2004 from 4-8 p.m. Frank's funeral will commence at 8:15 am on Tuesday morning, Oct. 26, from the chapel of the funeral home where prayer will be offered. The Rev. Anthony Ligato, pastor, will celebrate his Mass of Christian Burial on Tuesday at 9 am from Sts. Anthony and Joseph Church, S. Main St., Herkimer. Procession will then follow to Calvary Cemetery, Herkimer where burial will take place. Full military honors with a 21-Gun Salute will be accorded. Kindly consider memorial offerings to a charity of your choice; donations may be made at the funeral home and envelopes are available aswell. The following organizations will gather at the Holleran-Enea Funeral Home on Monday to conduct services: Anthony R. George Post #6 at 5:00 p.m., Herkimer Elk's Lodge #1439 at 5:30 p.m. Michael S. Pliseck V. F. W. Post #4915 at 7:00 p.m. and members of the St. Anthony's Crusaders are asked to gather at 6:00 p.m. to pay their respects.
