Obituary of Joseph Bandel

Joseph W. Bandel, 56, a lifelong Little Falls resident, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, August 10, 2004. His family surrounded him at the time of his passing, which occurred in his home on Petrie Street in Little Falls. He was born on March 4, 1948 in Little Falls a son of the late Joseph Bandel and Helen Munk. He was a graduate of St. Mary's Academy, Little Falls. On May 21, 1994 he was united in marriage with the former Irene Goutremont in Little Falls. Joe's last professional employment was with Feldmeier in Little Falls. He owned and operated his family farm on Loomis St., Ext., for 30 years and was employed at one time with Werthman's Hardware. He was a communicant of Holy Family Parish. He was a member of the Polish Club and the American Legion Post #31 of Little Falls. Joe was an avid outdoorsmen and enjoyed bowling. Survivors include his wife, Irene at home, three sisters, Linda VanSlyke of Cooperstown, Sandra VanSlyke and husband James of Rochester and Cynthia Dering and husband James of Glenmont, a niece, nephews, aunts, cousins and inlaws. Also surviving are many dear friends. He was predeceased by a brother George Munk, III and a brother in Law Mark Van Slyke. In respecting Joe's wishes, cremation will take place under the direction of the Enea Funeral Home, Little Falls. There will be no public visitation. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend a memorial Mass of Christian Burial, which will commence at 11 am on Saturday morning, August 14, 2004 from Holy Family Parish, corner of East Main and John Streets, Little Falls. Interment will be held at the convenience of the family. Kindly consider contributions in memory of Joe to the American Cancer Society.
