Obituary of Marjorie Blaszak

Marjorie S. Blaszak, 71, of Ilion, passed away Friday evening, Dec. 3, 2004, at the Valley Health Services in Herkimer with her loving family at her side. She was born on November 25, 1933 in Old Glendale, NY a daughter of the late Clarence and Lena (Wolfen) Knapp. She was educated in Richfield Springs schools. Prior to living at the Prindle Apartments in Ilion she was a resident in the Utica area. She was united in marriage to Thomas Blaszak, who preceded her in death. Marjorie's last professional employment was with MDS in Herkimer and she was of the Methodist faith. Marjorie was a loving mother, sister and grandmother. Her priorities, her concerns and her responsibilities revolved around her family. She always enjoyed traveling to Florida to visit her children and help her daughter in the garden. One of her favorite pastimes was playing bingo. She will be dearly missed by her family. Survivors include a son, Kenneth Wood and wife Jeanne of Florida, a daughter, Pamela George and husband William of Florida, a brother, Harold Perrone and wife Thelma of Mohawk and Clarence Knapp and wife Olivia of Newport; a sister June Lonis of Ilion; six grandchildren, six great grandchildren and a sister in law, Margaret Perrone of Ilion. Also surviving are many nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by her mother, Lena Eastman, a son Rodney Wood and by a brother, Roscoe "Rocky" Perrone. Relatives and friends may pay their respects at the Enea Family Funeral Home, Main Street between Ilion and Frankfort, (894-8000) on Monday, December 6, 2004 from 4-6 p.m. A funeral service will follow visiting hours with Sister Sharon Ann Boyd officiating. In respecting Marjorie's wishes, cremation will follow under the direction of the Enea Family. Interment will be privately held in Cedarville Cemetery.
