Mrs. Dolores Cirillo, age 75, of 8 Burns Ave., Mohawk, went to be with the Lord peacefully on Sunday morning, February 29, 2004 in Faxton-St. Luke's Healthcare, Utica. She was born on April 9, 1927 a daughter of the late Harry and Josephine (Arcello) Taffi. On December 31, 1949, she married Patrick Cirillo at St. Francis de Sales Church, Herkimer. The couple celebrated a blessed union of 54 years, one that was based upon the devoted companionship which they enjoyed. At one time she was employed by M.D.S, Herkimer and the Cogar Corporation in Schuyler. She will always be remembered by many for the loyal service she provided to Herkimer County as the Executive Director of the Cancer Society. She was the owner and operator for nine years of B and E Fabrics which was located in Herkimer. Her last professional association was with Herkimer County Working Solutions where she was employed part-time. Dolores continually devoted herself to help make the Village of Herkimer prosper. She generously offered encouragement in providing ideas to make the village a better place. She was the director and was instrumental in starting Herkimer's annual summerfest. She was admired by family and friends alike for her confidence, respect for others, for her kindness and for her peaceful heart. A central focus of Dolores' life was her family. As a woman devoted to her husband, children and grandchildren she committed herself to their needs, interests and their happiness. She herself was never more happier than when she was in the company of her family, especially her two grandchildren. She enjoyed sewing and was a member of Zonta Club.
