Obituary of Betty Crimmins
Betty (Klimacek) Crimmins, 91, passed away on Tuesday morning, September 21, 2004 in Little Falls Hospital. Since the passing of her husband George F. Crimmins, Sr. in 1990, Betty resided for several years at 15 Salisbury Street in Little Falls with her son Bruce. She was born on May 31, 1913 in Herkimer, a daughter of the late George and Anna (Krocien) Klimacek and received her education in Little Falls Schools. On June 23, 1934, Betty was united in marriage with George F. Crimmins, Sr., in St. Mary's Parish House, Little Falls. A union of 56 years until the passing of Mr. Crimmins on October 26, 1990. Betty was at one time employed by the former Felt Shoe Company. Her last professional employment was with Van Allen's Nursing Home in Little Falls where she was a certified nurse's aid, retiring in 1975. She was a communicant of Holy Family Parish, Little Falls and a member of the church rosary society. She is survived by a son, Bruce R. Crimmins of Little Falls, a sister, Margaret Prochazka of Fairfield, a daughter in law, Mrs. George Crimmins, Jr., of Little Falls, a sister in law, Rita Klimacek of Utica, fourteen grandchildren, twenty grandchildren, one great-great grandson, many nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by her son, George F. Crimmins who passed away on August 26, 2004, two brothers, George Klimacek and Milan Klimacek, two sisters, Anne Perry and Amelia Dodson and by a daughter and son in law, Barbara and Gary Darling. Betty was a dedicated wife, sister, mother and grandmother. She was ever helpful in the best interests of her loved ones as well as attentive to their every need; her concern and willingness to help them will be truly missed. The family invites relatives and friends to visitation at the Enea Funeral Home, 24 W. Monroe St., Little Falls, on Thursday, September 23, 2004 from 5-8 p.m. Betty's funeral will commence at 10:15 am on Friday morning, Sept. 24, from the funeral home where prayer will be offered by Sister Marilyn Hayes, CSJ, thence to Holy Family Parish, Little Falls, where her Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 am by the Rev. Mark Cunningham. Funeral procession will follow to St. Mary's Cemetery where she will be laid to rest in the family plot. The family kindly requests contributions in her memory be made to the Little Falls Hospital Development Fund or to Valley Health Services of Herkimer; donations may be made at the funeral home.
