Scott A. Dawley, age 42, of Little Falls, beloved husband of Melissa J. (Estey) Dawley was tragically taken on Monday, November 15, 2004. He was born on August 10, 1962 in Ilion. His father is Ronald Dawley who resides with his wife Joan in Georgia. His mother is Nancy (Quensel) Hart who resides with ther husband Thomas in Ilion. Scott graduated with the Little Falls High School, "Class of 1981." He then went on to protect our country serving with the United States Navy for five years. On September 8th, 2001, Scott joined hands in marriage with Melissa Estey in Little Falls. Throughout the past three years, the couple has shared many happy memories. He was currently working with his brother Randy in the family business, Mountain View Trucking. Scott always enjoyed working and enjoyed relationships that he shared with his co-workers. For 10 years prior, he was employed with George Thomas Construction. He was of the Catholic Faith and belonged to the Salisbury Ridge Runners, the Ilion Knights of Columbus and the Little Falls American Legion Post #31. Scott was a well-respected man who truly loved life to the fullest. He was committed to excellence in all his endeavors and dedicated to his personal and career standards and values. He posessed a friendly personality, which was nicely complimented by his contagious smile and honest sincerity. He was intuitively sensative to the needs of others, and he was always willing to extend himself without hesitation in order to assist anyone in need. Scott had a huge heart and natural charisma. Because of this, he made friends instantly and kept them forever. He had a special closeness with his nieces and nephews, which were a source of great happiness for him. His family and friends will always hold a special place in their hearts for Scott and will forever treasure the memories that they shared with him. In his spare time he enjoyed being outdoors. Among some of the outdoor activities he enjoyed participating in were four-wheeling, snowmobiling and motorcycling. He had a special passion for NASCAR and enjoyed attending the races. He leaves his beloved wife Missy at home; his father Ronald Dawley and wife Joan of Georgia; his mother Nancy Hart and her husband Thomas of Ilion; his paternal grandmother Mildred Dawly of Little Falls; his wife's grandmother Carmella Lupo of Little Falls; his mother in law and father in law Marie and Francis Estey of Little Falls; three close brothers: Randy Dawley and friend Stacy of Little Falls, Kent Dawley and wife Deborah of Little Falls, and Mark Dawley of Miami Fl; a sister in law Michele Florian and husband Manfried of Herkimer; seven cherished nieces and nephews: Vanesssa, Ryan and Devan Dawley, Jessica and Travis Dawley and Travis and Katelyn Florian. He is also survived by many aunts, uncles, cousins and numerous devoted friends and his beloved canine companions, Bristol and Queenie. He was predeceased by his paternal grandfather, Maynard Dawley, his maternal grandparents Harris and Bernadette Quesnel and his wifes grandmother Margaret Estey. The family invites relatives and friends to calling hours at the Enea Funeral Home, 24 W. Monroe Street, Little Falls on Thursday November 18, 2004 from 5-9PM. His funeral will commence at 11 AM from Our Lady Queen of Apostles Church, Frankfort St., Frankfort on Friday November 19, 2004, with the Rev. Alfred Lamanna, pastor emeritus, officiating. Procession will follow to the Entwistle Family Cemetery, Litchfield where he will be laid to rest. Full military honors will be accorded. The family would like to thank all of you who provided mush needed support, comfort and encouragement during this difficult time. Scott was truly blessed throughout his life with many longtime and loyal friends who will truly miss him very much and this has truly been proven by all of your kind acts of sympathy. Members of the Ilion Knights of Columbus wil gather at the Enea Funeral Home on Thursday evening at 7 PM to pay their respects and the Little Falls American Legion Post #31 will gather at 7:30 PM.
