Obituary of Angela DePalma
Mrs. Angela Ann DePalma, age 93, of 321 William Street, Herkimer, passed away on Tuesday evening, September 14, 2004 at Folts Homes in Herkimer. She was born on November 23, 1910 in Herkimer, a daughter of the late Joseph and Rose (Scalise) Pugia. She was educated in Herkimer schools and had been a lifelong resident of Herkimer. She was united in marriage to James M. DePalma in 1937 in St. Anthony's Church in Herkimer with the Reverend Gustav Purificato officiating. Mr. DePalma passed away in 1972. Angela had worked with UNIVAC of Utica as a laborer and more recently with General Electric. She was a member of the Church of Sts. Anthony & Joseph of Herkimer. A loving mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, Angela will be dearly missed by her beloved family, including her son: James DePalma and his wife Carol of Herkimer; two daughters: Elaine de Palma-Sadzkoski and her husband Joseph Sadzkoski of Herkimer; and Karen DePalma of Provincetown, MA; a sister: Anna A. Foresta of Michigan; 3 grandchildren: Trisha DePalma, Lisa DePalma, and Justin MacCreery and his wife Amy; in Laws: Thomas Scalise and his wife Theresa of Herkimer; Mary Cotterman and her husband Donald of Rochester; Anna Scalise of Rochester; and Lorraine Pugia of Michigan; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was preceded in death by three brothers: William, Ralph, and Edward Pugia. Funeral services will be held on Saturday September 18, 2004 at 9:30 AM from the Holleran - Enea Funeral Home, 220 North Washington Street, Herkimer, and at 10:00 AM from the Church of Sts. Anthony & Joseph, South Main Street, Herkimer, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated. Interment will take place at Calvary Cemetery, Herkimer. Family and friends are invited to attend calling hours at the Holleran - Enea Funeral Home on Friday evening, September 17th from 5 - 8 PM. The Village of Herkimer Senior Citizens are asked to gather at the funeral home on Friday evening at 5:30 PM for a prayer service. Those wishing are asked to consider donations in memory of Mrs. DePalma to the Folts Homes Foundation. Envelopes are available at the funeral home.
