Obituary of Pasquale DeRosa

Mr. Pasquale A. DeRosa, affectionately known to all as Patsy, went to be with his loving wife, Florence, and other beloved family members in heaven on Tuesday morning, July 6, 2004 in Little Falls Hospital. His passing occurred sixteen days after his wife's passing. Patsy was born on July 11, 1917 in Utica a son of the late Anthony and Josephine DeRosa and received his education in Utica schools. He was joined in marriage with his wife, the former Florence Carlo on May 26, 1940 in Watertown, a union of 64 years filled with love and dedication, until her passing on June 20, 2004. He was of the Catholic faith. Mr. DeRosa's was always their for his family never letting them go without anything, especially his wisdom and advice. He would go out of his way to make sure they were happy, always putting their needs before his own. Among his loved ones he demonstrated a sincere and dedicated commitment to friendship. He made a strong impact on other people, both within his family circle and beyond, leaving them with countless beautiful and inspiring memories and will be dearly missed. Survivors include three beloved children, Pat DeRosa and wife Frances of Herkimer, Christine Healey of Herkimer, Susan Cancelino and husband Alan of Herkimer, two sons in law, James Houghtaling of Hinckley, NY, and Joseph Harb of San Antonio, TX, hischerished grandchildren, Cindy DeRosa of Utica, Alan Cancelino of New York City, Patsy DeRosa, Jr., of Herkimer, Lisa and Scott Scherer of Herkimer, Marcelle and Sergio Cisernos of San Antonio, TX, Grace and Ryan Fuess of San Antonio, TX, Jacqueline Harb of Troy, NY, two adored great grandchildren, Devin and Mitchell Scherer. Survivors also include, many nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by two daughters, Josephine Harb and Maryann Houghtaling, one sister, five brothers and by a son in law, Robert Healey. There will be no public visitation. The family will gather privately to say goodbye at Calvary Cemetery, Utica, where entombment will take place, with the Rev. Alfred Lamanna, pastor, emeritus, officiating. The Holleran-Enea Funeral Home of Herkimer, (866-1011) is serving the family.
