Obituary of Margaret Dunkailo

Mrs. Margaret P. Dunkailo, age 77, of 550 John Street, Little Falls, Rockton Plaza, passed away on Saturday April 3, 2004 at Little Falls Hospital Skilled Nursing Facility. She was born on July 5, 1926 in Amsterdam, daughter of the late Joseph and Antoinette "Nettie" (DeAngelo) Naple and received her education in Little Falls schools. She had been a lifelong resident of this area. On June 15, 1947, Marge joined in marriage with Michael Dunkailo at St. Joseph's Church in Little Falls with the Rev. T.J. Lynch officiating, a loving union of over 56 years. Marge had worked in the French Road Plant of General Electric in Utica and later went on to work with the Little Falls Hospital, focusing her attention on the 4th floor mainly and cleaning of that unit. She worked there for 20 years prior to her retirement in 1989. She was a member and communicant of the Holy Family Parish in Little Falls, and was a lifelong member of the Holy Family Rosary Society. She was also a proud member of the DeCarlo Staffo Post in Little Falls, and had served as a past Auxiliary President. Marge loved bingo, and at one time assisted as a Girl Scout Troop Leader through St. Joseph's Church. Marge was a gentle and generous woman who will long be remembered for her caring ways and her friendship and concern for those dear to her. She will be missed by many. She is survived by her beloved husband Michael, a resident of the Van Allen Nursing Home in Little Falls; two sisters: Mary Sandy of Amsterdam and Delores George of Little Falls; In Laws: Bennie Tisi and Sharon Bosch of Little Falls; a special "Grandson:" Attorney Donald Manley of Ilion; her Godmother: Fannie DeLorenzo of Little Falls; several nieces and nephews and many loving friends and cherished neighbors at the Rockton Plaza in Little Falls. She was predeceased by her sisters: Rose Tisi and Janet Martin and a brother Jerry Naple. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday April 6, 2004 at 10:30 AM at the Enea Funeral Home, 24 West Monroe Street Little Falls and at 11:00 AM at the Holy Family Parish Church, John Street Little Falls with the Rev. Anthony Ligato, Pastor, officiating. Private interment will take place in St. Mary's Cemetery, Town of Herkimer. Family and friends are invited to attend calling hours at the funeral home on Monday evening (Tonight) from 5 - 8 PM. Those wishing are asked to consider donations in memory of Marge to the Holy Family Parish Restoration Fund, or to a charity of one's choice. Envelops are available at the funeral home. The family extends a warm thanks to the nursing staff of the 4th Floor of the Little Falls Hospital for the kindness extended.
