Geraldine Hill, age 79, of Little Falls, entered into eternal rest peacefully in her sleep on Thursday afternoon, February 5, 2004 in Folts Homes, Herkimer where she was receiving wonderful care. At the time of her passing, she had the comfort of her children at her side. She was born on July 27, 1924 in Freys Bush, NY, a daughter of the late John and Flora (Adams) Gardinier and was educated in Little Falls Schools. She was last employed with Snyder Apartments in Little Falls. Geraldine was a member of the Emmanuel Episcopal Church, Little Falls and the church Ladies Guild. Mrs. Hill will be forever remembered by her family as a loving and caring mother, grandmother and sister. Survivors include a son, John Hill, Jr. of Virginia Beach, VA., two daughters and two sons in law, Sandra and Michael Pallace of Saratoga Springs, NY and Kelly and Robert Wetherbee of West Burlington, NY and a brother, Robert Eckard of Little Falls. Also surviving are six grandchildren, three great grandchildren, many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a brother, Manson Gardinier, a half brother, Burt Eckard, Jr., and by a sister Audrey VanDycke. There are no public calling hours. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend a Mass of Resurrection at 1 pm on Saturday afternoon, from the Emmanuel Episcopal Church, Albany St., Little Falls with the Rev. Dr. Steven A. Scarcia, rector, officiating. Spring interment will be held in Rural Park Cemetery, Inghams Mills. Kindly consider contributions in honor of Geraldine to the Emmanuel Episcopal Church, Little Falls, envelopes will be available at the service on Saturday. The family would like to gratefully acknowledge the staff and wonderful caregivers at Folts Homes, Herkimer for their tender love and care given to Geraldine and her family.
