Obituary of Ernest Hoke
Mr. Ernest C. "Skip" Hoke, Sr., age 69, a longtime resident of Richfield Springs, NY, went to be with the Lord on Monday evening, April 5, 2004 with his loving family at his side at Bassett Healthcare in Cooperstown. Skip was born on February 2, 1935, son of the late Archie and Ruby (Hight) Hoke. He graduated from Mohawk Central School in 1955, and was active in many sports, including the Championship Football Teams of 1951 - 1953. He was an outstanding wrestler and he had won the State Championship. Skip spent several years owning and operating a family dairy farm and was a salesman for Nature's Liquid (Gro-More) Fertilizer. He was married to the former June Dibble on March 5, 1966. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and brother. Skip had a great love for God and the scriptures. Skip is survived by his loving and devoted wife: June, four sons and four daughters: Ernest "Skipper" Hoke, Jr., of Richfield Springs, Keith Loiacono and wife Doris of Jordanville; George "Alan" Loiacono of Richfield Springs; Theodore "Ted" Loiacono of Ilion; Roberta and husband Thomas Hallock of Richfield Springs; Terry and husband Dave Skramko of Ilion; Linda Madison and companion Bryan Marcucci of Johnstown; Judy and husband Edward Schell of Oppenheim; and son in law: Arthur Madison of Oppenheim; four brothers: Nelson and wife Mary Hoke of Mohawk; Robert Hoke of Palm Dale, California; John "Jack" Hoke of Mohawk; and Alfred "Butch" Hoke and wife Mary of Dolgeville; and his sisters: Ethel and husband Donald Eckler of Jordanville; Marguerite Hall of Mohawk; Eleanor Hardy of June Lake, California; Helen and husband Edward Healey of Ilion; Irene Vandenberg of Herkimer; and Sharon Naple-Bosch of Little Falls. He is also survived by his cherished 19 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren: and many nieces and nephews who loved him and whom Skip loved unconditionally. He was predeceased by his parents: Archie and Ruby; and his brothers: Kenneth, Ira "Ike", Arthur, and Archie. Funeral services will be held on Thursday April 8, 2004 at 10:00 AM at the Chapel of the Enea Family Funeral Home, Main Street Between Ilion & Frankfort with Rev. Joseph Jansen officiating. Procession will follow to Lakeview Cemetery in Richfield Springs where interment will take place. The family will receive relatives and friends at the funeral home on Wednesday April 7 (Today) from 2 - 4 & 6 - 8 PM.
