Mabel Kalin, 94, passed into well-deserved eternal rest on Wednesday, May 5, 2004. She was the much-loved aunt of Grace Klutschkowski and husband Manfred of Norway, NY; Anne Cole of Poughkeepsie, NY and John Kalin and wife Joann of Stormville, NY. She was predeceased by both parents and her brother, John. She leaves behind five grand nieces and nephews and five great grand nieces and nephews. Mabel was a life-long elementary school teacher in the NY City school system. She was also an ever-present parent figure to the three of us following the early deaths of our parents. For years she kept up a steady stream of correspondence, visits and encouragement. We shall not forget her kindness. Our deepest appreciation goes to the staff of the Folts Home in Herkimer . They took such loving and compassionate care of Mabel over the last five years of her life. A funeral service to celebrate Mabel's life will be held at the Wakeman Chapel in Folts Homes, Herkimer at a time to be announced with the Rev. David Oertel, Chaplain of Folts Homes officiating. Burial will be held in The Evergreens Cemetery, Brooklyn. The Holleran-Enea Funeral Home of Herkimer is serving the family.
