Obituary of Verna Kasper

Family and friends are invited to attend a Memorial Mass in memory of Verna (Martin) Kasper, 46, beloved wife, mother, daughter, sister and friend, on Friday, Nov. 26, commencing at 4 p.m. at the Church of the Annunciation with Father Anthony Barratt, pastor, officiating. All are cordially invited to join Verna's family at the Ilion Knights of Columbus following Mass. Verna died unexpectedly July 28, 2004, in Gulf Breeze, Fla., the result of injuries sustained in an automobile accident. On Jan. 18, 1958, Verna was born in Marlboro, Mass., daughter of Roger and (Marie) Therese Martin. She was raised in Ilion, attended Ilion schools and was a graduate of Ilion High School. She was united in marriage to Scott Paul Kasper Sr. and resided in Ilion prior to relocating their family to Gulf Breeze in 1995. Devoted to her beloved family and church, she was a member of St. Ann's Catholic Church in Gulf Breeze. Verna was employed by Seton Center of Sacred Heart Hospital as a billing supervisor. Survivors include her husband, Scott Paul Kasper Sr. of Gulf Breeze; one son, Scott Paul Kasper II at home; two daughters, Michelle Ann Kasper of Houston, Texas and Pamela (Kasper) Riley and her husband Kody, both of Gulf Breeze; her parents, Roger and Therese Martin of Ilion; four sisters, Janet (Martin) King and her husband Joseph of Texas, JoAnn (Martin) Cunningham and her husband Jay of Pennsylvania, Suzie (Martin) Venditte and her husband Jeff of Texas, Mary Jean (Martin) Pettengill and her husband Michael of Rochester; one brother, Roger Martin Jr. and his wife Diane of Martinsburg, W.Va.; nieces, nephews, extended family members and many friends. Local arrangements were entrusted to Applegate and Day Funeral Home, 102 West St., Ilion.
