Obituary of Michael Lamanna

Michael F. Lamanna, 67, of 15 W. Main St., St. Johnsville, passed away on Monday, April 26, 2004, at the St. Johnsville Nursing Home. He was born October 10, 1936, in Little Falls, son of the late Patsy and Lyda (Roote) Lamanna Sr. and attended St. Mary's Academy in Little Falls. Mr. Lamanna was a proud veteran of the U.S. Army during the Korean conflict, enlisting on October 29, 1952. He was honorably discharged on October 28, 1957, with the rank of Sp-3. Mike was last employed at Sentinel in St. Johnsville, and at one time worked at the Allegro Shoe Company in Little Falls for over 30 years. Mr. Lamanna was of the Catholic faith. Mike was a member of the Hole in the Wall Gang at the H.C. Smith Benefit Club and volunteered his cooking ability for many benefits in St. Johnsville. Mike was a quiet and caring man who gave much of himself to his many friends, and a loving and caring brother who always put his family first in his life. Survivors include his wife, Betty Lamanna of St. Johnsville; a brother, Louis Lamanna and wife MaryJo of Williamsburg, Va.; a sister, Sharon Warn and husband Robert of Little Falls; a sister-in-law, Martha Lamanna of St. Johnsville; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by a brother, Patrick Lamanna, on July 20, 2002. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, April 29, at 2 p.m. from the Enea Funeral Home, 24 W. Monroe St., Little Falls. Interment will be in Church Street Cemetery, Little Falls. Friends and relatives may call at the funeral home on Thursday, April 29, from noon until the time of the services.
