Obituary of Mary Lamanna

Mrs. Mary A. Lamanna, 83, a resident of Van Allen's Nursing Home, the beloved wife of Lawrence Lamanna, entered into eternal rest on Sunday evening, January 4, 2004. She was born on September 9, 1920 in Little Falls, a daughter of the late Martin and Angelina (Pavia) Rizzi and was educated in Little Falls Schools. She was united in marriage with Lawrence Lamanna in 1947 at St. Joseph's Church, Little Falls. Mr. and Mrs. Lamanna together enjoyed a blessed and loving union of 56 years. Mary spent many years taking care of her family and her home. She was a communicant of Holy Family Parish, Little Falls. Survivors include her husband Lawrence of Little Falls, one son, Ronald Lamanna and wife Patricia of Herkimer, a daughter Lisa Urich and husband Ronald of Little Falls, a sister Angie Piacente of Rome, four cherished grandchildren, Jessica, Megan, and Joshua Lamanna and Sean Urich. Also suriviving are numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by a son, Terry Lamanna in 1950, two sisters, Philomena DeLucco and Rose Restante and a brother Joseph Rizzi. Visitation at the Enea Funeral Home, 24 W. Monroe St., Little Falls, will be held on Tuesday (today) from 5-8 p.m. Mary's funeral will commence at 10:30 am on Wednesday morning, January 7, 2004 from the chapel of the Enea Funeral Home, where a prayer service will be held and at 11 am from Holy Family Parish, corner of E. Main and John Streets, Little Falls where the Rev. Thomas Vail will celebrate her Mass of Christian Burial. Procession will follow to St. Mary's Cemetery, town of Herkimer where she will be laid to rest. The family would like to offer their thanks to the entire staff at Van Allen's Nursing Home, all of whom offered Mary and her loved ones comfort, support, concern and compassion.
