Obituary of Harold LaVeck

Mr. Harold R. LaVeck, age 74, a resident of the Country Manor, a former Fulton resident, passed away on Friday evening, December 10, 2004. His passing occurred in St. Elizabeth's Medical Center, Utica. He as born on January 1, 1930 in Fulton NY a son of the late William H. and Anna (Mahanney) LaVeck and received his education in Fulton Schools. He has resided at the Country Manor since 1991. A Korean War veteran he enlisted with the United States Marine Corps on September 7, 1950 and was honorably discharged on September 7, 1953, holding the rank of Corporal. He was employed as a maintenance man with the Adirondack Summer Camp in Old Forge at one time. He was known by family and friends as an talented handy man and specialized in stained glass. He was a member of the Syracuse Local Carpenters Union Local #12. Survivors include two sons, Charles LaVeck and Arthur LaVeck, three daughters, Janice, Donna and Margaret, a brother Louis LaVeck of Little Falls, a sister Anna M. LaVeck of Little Falls, his grandchildren, many nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by three brothers, Bill, Chuck and Fred, by a sister, Margaret, and by his good friend, Chester J. Gregg. Relatives and friends are invited to visitation at the Enea Funeral Home, 24 W. Monroe St., Little Falls, on Monday (today) December 13, 2004 from 6-8 p.m. Committal service will be privately held in St. Mary's Cemetery, Fulton, NY.
