Obituary of Cynthia Miller

Cynthia Jean Miller, 49, of 26 Columbia St., Mohawk, died Monday, Aug. 23, 2004, at 9:40 a.m. at the St. Elizabeth Medical Center, Utica. She was born Aug. 10, 1955, in Morrisville, Vt., the daughter of Byron and Dolly (Messier) Peters and graduated from Lamoille Union High School in Vermont. At one time, Cynthia worked at Herkimer Family Treasure House, Ilion, as a production worker. She was a member of the Mohawk Reformed Church. Survivors include her mother, Dolly Peters of Johnson, Vt.; two daughters and one son-in-law, Charity and Jeff Young of Boston, Mass. and Deserae Miller of Mohawk; one son and daughter-in-law, Shawn and Paula Miller of Johnson, Vt.; five grandchildren, Autumn and Ashley Wells, Adeline Domina, Malachi and Hunter Farr; two sisters, Donna Smith of Old Fort, Tenn. and Theresa Rathburn of Johnson, Vt.; four brothers, Byron Peters of Rutland, Vt., Carlton Peters of Orlando, Fla., Carroll Peters of Hyde Park, Vt. and Norman Peters of Waterville, Vt.; several nieces, nephews, cousins and her companion, William Porter, with whom she resided in Mohawk. She was predeceased by one brother, Edward Peters. Funeral services will be held 4 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 4, at the United Methodist Church of Johnson, Vt., with the Rev. Walter Kaptain, pastor, officiating. Interment will be in Lamoille View Cemetery, Johnson, Vt. There are no scheduled calling hours. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Elizabeth Hospital or St. Frances Hostel, 2209 Genesee St., Utica 13501. Cynthia's children have entrusted all funeral arrangements to the Graves-Applegate-Day Funeral Home at 48 E. Main St., Mohawk (866-2161).
