Obituary of Margaret Ottman

Mrs. Margaret Orilla Ottman, 79, of 14 W. Faville Ave., Dolgeville, died Saturday, July 10, 2004, in Little Falls Hospital after a brief illness. Margaret was born in Fairfield on August 15, 1924, the daughter of Harold and Cora (Eckler) Metz and was a graduate of Dolgeville schools, class of 1942. Her marriage to Gerald L. Ottman took place on December 12, 1944, in Long Beach, Calif. Margaret was a psychiatric therapy aide for the Rockland County Psychiatric Center, retiring from there in 1983 with 23 years of service. She attended New Hope Christian Fellowship Church in Dolgeville and will be remembered by her family as a loving and caring wife, mother and grandmother. She also enjoyed crocheting and knitting. Surviving her is her husband Gerald of 59 years; a son and daughter-in-law, Gerald and Cathy Ottman Jr. of Ocala, Fla.; her daughters, Geraldine and her husband James Bellinger of Dolgeville and Kathy Pentland of Dolgeville; a sister, Lillian Sliter of Old Forge; her grandchildren, Kevin Bellinger, Barbara Duquid, Natalie Pratt and Lisa Sachoud; her step-grandchildren, Gina Nole, Theresa Catlin, Ronald Hollenbeck and Sandra Sutton; several great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a brother, Richard M. Metz, on January 1, 2004. Graveside memorial services will be held Saturday, July 17, at 1 p.m. in the Dolgeville Cemetery with Pastor Barry Smith of the New Hope Christian Fellowship Church offering prayer. There are no calling hours. Memorials may be sent to the New Hope Christian Fellowship Church Building Fund, 32 Spencer St., Dolgeville, NY 13329. Arrangements are entrusted to the Roberts-Buck Funeral Home, 3 Faville Ave., Dolgeville.
