Obituary of Grayce Papaleo
Mrs. Grayce E. (Chamberlain) Papaleo, age 92, a longtime Little Falls resident entered into eternal rest Saturday morning, October 16, 2004. Her passing occurred in Little Falls Hospital. She was born on January 30, 1912 in the town of Springfield, NY a daughter of the late Frank and Verna (Franzman) Chamberlain and graduated from Fort Plain High School. On August 10, 1935, Grayce joined hands in marriage with Anthony Papaleo in Fort Plain. The couple enjoyed a blessed union of 55 years until Mr. Papaleo's passing on August 12, 1990. Grayce was last employed with the former P and K Dress Factory and assisted her husband in the operation of Papaleo's Pizza located on Ann Street in Little Falls for 25 years. She was a devoted communicant of Holy Family Parish serving as a eucharistic minister and as an active member of the rosary society. Grayce was also a member of the DAR and the former Lady's Elks of Little Falls. She will be dearly missed by her five beloved children: James G. Papaleo and wife Donna of Ilion, Andrea Carpenter and husband Ralph of Sayre, PA, Sharon Carlton and husband Bruce of Wilson, NC, Grayce Dady and husband John of Little Falls, and Lora Gorski and husband Ronald of Herkimer; her grandchildren, Marque and wife Anne Carpenter, Stephan and wife Linda Carpenter, Monique Carpenter, Joella and husband John Wind, John and wife Melissa Dady, Jennifer Papaleo, Jeffrey and wife Melissa Papaleo, Michelle Gorski and Elizabeth Carlton; great grandchildren; Juliette, Jessica, Kaitlin Keilen and Kylan Carpenter, Christian, Tiffany and Kaitlyn Kovacs, Liia and Shane Carpenter, Sydney and Erin Wind and Joshua Gorski. Also surviving is a great great grandson, Tristan, a sister in law, Michilina Papaleo and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a granddaughter, Suzanne Gorski. Relatives and friends are invited to pay their respects at the Enea Funeral Home, 24 W. Monroe St., Little Falls on Monday, (today), October 17, 2004 from 5-8 p.m. Grayce's funeral will commence at 10:15 am on Tuesday morning, Oct. 18, from the funeral home where prayer will be offered. Funeral procession will follow to Holy Family Parish, corner of E. Main and John Streets, Little Falls where her Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by the Rev. Anthony Ligato, Pastor, at 11am. Grayce will be laid to rest in St. Mary's Cemetery, town of Herkimer.
