Obituary of Donald Paracka

Mr. Donald D. "Dutch" Paracka, age 69, a lifelong Little Falls resident, entered into eternal rest peacefully on Tuesday morning, April 20, 2004 in the comfort of his home surrounded by his loved ones. He was born on October 19, 1934 in Little Falls a son of the late Dusan Paracka and Anna (Speer) Paracka who resides in Little Falls. He received his education in Little Falls schools. He was united in marriage to the former Anna Mizerak. A proud United States veteran he served with the U.S. Navy enlisting on November 9, 1953 and was honorably discharged on October 4, 1957. He was a recipient of the National Defense Medal. Dutch was last employed with Sentinel Products in St. Johnsville. He was a member of the Little Falls American Legion Post #31 and the Little Falls German Maennerchor. Survivors include his mother, Anna, four children, Donald Paracka and wife Cynthia of North Carolina, Kathryn Diantonio of Schenectady, Laura Grainer of Palatine Bridge and David Paracka of Las Vegas, a brother Thomas Paracka and wife Francine of Fulton, NY, a sister Patricia Frascatore and husband John of Unadilla, NY, six grandchildren, Stephen, Allison, Michelle, Joseph, Sarah, and John, seven great grandchildren, many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins. He is also survived by a special friend Donald Sweet of Herkimer. The family will receive relatives and friends at the Enea Funeral Home, Little Falls, on April 21, 2004 (today) from 5-8 pm. His funeral will commence at 11 am on Thursday morning, April 22, 2004 from the chapel of the Enea Funeral Home with the Rev. Dr. Steven A. Scarcia, rector of the Emmanuel Episcopal Church, Little Falls, officiating. Dutch will be laid to rest in Holy Trinity Lutheran Cemetery, Little Falls where the United States Navy will offer full military honors and the Little Falls American Legion will present a color guard. By the request of the family, kindly consider contributions in Mr. Paracka's honor to the Little Falls American Legion, envelopes are available at the funeral home.
