Obituary of Barbara Perkett
Barbara J. Perkett, age 75, of 410 Second Avenue Extension, Frankfort, passed away on Sunday evening August 15, 2004 at Valley Health Services in Herkimer. She was born on July 25, 1929 in Jordanville, the daughter of Lyman and Marjorie Mumford. She was a graduate of Van Hornesville school, and had been a lifelong area resident. Barbara was married to the late Richard Perkett. She had last worked with the Mohawk Valley General Hospital in Ilion for many years with the Central Service Department. Barbara was a dedicated family woman with a kind and gentle nature. Her loved ones will always cherish the wonderful life she led and her caring and thoughtful ways. She is survived by her beloved family including her mother: Marjorie Sprague of Ilion; her children, including three sons: Richard Perkett of Colorado, Michael Perkett and his wife Nora of Utica, and Dale Perkett and his wife Heidi of Blasdell, NY; four daughters: Sabra Marrone and her husband Craig of Frankfort; Debbie Ward and her husband Steve of Beaver, Ohio; Beth Vickers and her husband Harry of Herkimer, and Shirley Kraft and her husband Danny of Gloversville; Grandchildren: Michael Perkett and wife Shannon, Aimee Burke and husband Kevin, Denise Backell and friend Rich Klotz, Cory Marrone and friend Jamie Jenning, Sarah Marrone, Derek Perkett; Becky Wilburn and husband Stanley; Jason Holsinger, Matthew Holsinger; Andrew Vickers, Kevin Vickers, Brittany Perkett, Autumn Perkett; and Melanie Bennett; Great grandchildren: Emily, Alyssa, Abbigail, Maggie, Audrea, Callie, Samuel, and Mackenzie; a sister: June Lewis of Ilion; two brothers: Chuck Mumford and wife Pam of East Hartford, Conn.; and Wayne Mumford and wife Maria of East Haven, Conn; step brothers and sisters: David and Christine Sprague of Restin, Virginia; John & Tammy Sprague of Arizona; and Linda and Yvon Thierault of Connecticut; many nieces, nephews, cousins, and special friends including: Cindy & Lenny Jonston and Clydia Fletcher. Family and friends are invited to attend calling hours at the Enea Family Funeral Home, Main Street Between Frankfort & Ilion on Thursday, Aug. 19, 2004 from 4 - 7 PM. A service of prayer and reflection will begin at the conclusion of visitation at 7:00 PM Thursday evening at the funeral home chapel with the Rev. Robert Wollaber, Pastor of the Ilion United Methodist Church officiating. Those wishing are asked to consider donations in memory of Barbara to the Valley Health Services Palliative Care Facility, 690 West German Street, Herkimer.
