Joseph ?Pop? Peruzzi, Sr., formerly of 7783 State Highway 5, St. Johnsville, passed away on Sunday June 13, 2004 at the St. Johnsville Nursing Home. He was born August 4, 1918 in St. Johsnville the son of the late Carmen & Mary (Paluzzi) Peruzzi, and was educated in St. Johnsville schools. He was married to Hellen L. Jones on December 13, 1947 in Pittsfield, Mass. The couple shared a blessed union of 27 years until the passing of Mrs. Peruzzi on February 17, 1975. Joe was last employed at C.J. Burgess in St. Johnsville & Canajoharie, retiring in 1973. Pop was a member of St. Patrick?s Church in St. Johnsville, and the H.C. Smith Benefit Club and the Union Work Masons. Survivors include a son; Joseph Peruzzi, Jr. of St. Johnsville and a daughter Joan Swank of St. Johnsville, 2 sisters; Alice Johnson of St. Johnsville and Rose Minosh of Frankfort, 5 grandchildren; Patricia Peruzzi, Jonathan & Joseph Swank, Douglas Swank, & Tracy Swank, 7 great grandchildren; Kristin & Abigal Swank, Jacob & Zachary Swank, Emily & Eryka Swank & Cameron Battisti, and several nieces, nephews & Cousins. He was pre-deceased by a great granddaughter; Krystle Swank, 3 brothers; Dominick, Roosevelt, & Tony Peruzzi and 2 sisters; Linda Peruzzi & Dodgie Dargizza. Funeral services will be held on Thursday June 17, 2004 at 1:30 pm from the Smith ? Woody and Enea Funeral Home, 9 Center St., St. Johnsville, NY and at 2:00 pm from St. Patrick?s Church where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated. Burial will follow at St. Johnsville Cemetery. Friends and relatives may call at the funeral home on Wednesday June 16, 2004 from 5-8 pm.
