Obituary of Minerva Plunkett

Mrs. Minerva M. Plunkett, age 91, mose recently residing with her son, Daniel Plunkett and wife Sharon at 25 W. Rand Street, and formerly a lontime resident of 5 Monroe Street, Ilion, passed away on Thursday afternoon, May 6, 2004 in Faxton Hospital, Utica. She had her loved ones at her side at the time of her passing. She was born on October 30, 1912 in Little Falls a daughter of the late Dan and Hazel (Helmer) Farrell and was a graduate of St. Mary's Academy, Little Falls. She was united in marriage with Fred Plunkett on October 11, 1941 in St. Mary's Church, Middleville. Mr. Plunkett passed away in 1955. She was a communicant of Annunciation Church, Ilion and a member of the Catholic Daughter's. Minerva truly enjoyed spending time with ther grandchildren and will be dearly missed by her family. Survivors include two sons: Donald Plunkett and wife Sharon of Ilion, and David Plunkett and wife Brenda of Herkimer; five cherished grandchildren: Carrie Schrader and husband Robert, Aisha Plunkett, Dylon and Colby Plunkett, Kyria Plunkett, all of Herkimer, many nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by a brother John Farrell and by a son James Plunkett. By request of the family, there will be no public visitation. Family and friends are respectfully invited to attend her Mass of Christian Burial which will be celebrated on Monday, May 10, 2004 at 10 am from the Annunciation Church, West Street, Ilion. Contributions in her memory may be made to Catholic Charities, envelopes will be available in the church vestibule on Monday morning. Procession will follow to St. John's Cemetery, Newport, where she will be laid to rest alongside her husband Fred. The Enea Family Funeral Home, Main Street between Ilion and Frankfort (894-8000) is in charge of funeral arrangements.
